Christina G. Karahalios graduated from Guerin College Preparatory High School in 2011 and continued her education at DePaul University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in English, cum laude, in 2015, and a Master of Arts in English, with distinction, in 2016.  She further continued her education and received a Juris Doctor from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2020.  

Christina first joined Smith & Smith as a sophomore in high school, assisting the firm with daily organization and serving as a receptionist.  As Christina grew and continued with the firm, she became a law clerk, assisting clients with financial affidavits and handling discovery, helping attorneys prepare for trial, researching and drafting pleadings. She primarily worked with clients on family law, estate planning and probate cases.  Christina continued as a law clerk through law school and began as an Associate Attorney with Smith & Smith upon admission to the Illinois Bar in January 2021.   

She is well-versed in multiple areas of law such as family law (including division of marital property and parental responsibilities), estate planning, and probate law.

She also previously clerked for the Honorable Judge Anthony C. Kyriakopoulos in the Cook County Chancery Mortgage Foreclosure / Mechanics Lien Section during the summer of her 2L year where she was able to sit in on trials and pre-trials, as well as draft routine orders and opinions. During her 2L and 3L years at Chicago-Kent she served as the secretary for the Hellenic Law Student Association.

Christina is a volunteer with Best Buddies Illinois- Chicago, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to creating opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), where she has been named a top team leader, top fundraiser (2017-present) and chair of the Friendship Walk Committee.  She has also served as a mentor and judge for Miss Amazing, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides opportunities for girls and women with disabilities to build self-esteem.  Christina also volunteers with HeL.las, a pro bono clinic, which was created to address the needs of low-income members of the Greek community of Chicago.  She is a proud member of the Hellenic Bar Association and is fluent in Greek.
