Marjorie A. Manchen attended Mother Theodore Guerin High School, known as Guerin Preparatory High School.  She continued on her education at Western Illinois University earning a Bachelor of Arts in both French and Political Science (cum laude, 1982).  She later received her Juris Doctorate at Northern Illinois University's College of Law in 1992.  She joined the firm in July 1994, and is presently the head of the firm's family law practice.  Marjorie has concentrated her practice in domestic relations, guardianships, probate, and other family law matters, as well as municipal work, for the past 26 years.

In addition, Marjorie is the Village Clerk of River Grove, elected in 2009, and a graduate of the Municipal Clerks of Illinois Institute.  Marjorie also serves as the Office Assistant/Office Manager for the Mayor of Schiller Park. 

 

Marjorie served as a member of the Board of Directors of Guerin College Preparatory High School in River Grove from 2008 until 2018, and was a former chair and president of the Guerin Alumnae Board.  She is an active member and current president of the River Grove Lions Club, and a volunteer for Special Olympics Illinois, Chicago area.

Marjorie's prior work or internships include: the Chicago Crime Commission, Arapaho Investigations, State Farm Insurance (5 years; a senior claims adjuster), the N.I.U. Center for Governmental Studies, the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office, the U.S. Trustees Office of the Department of Justice, and, Garretson & Santoro law firm in Chicago.  Marjorie was a Commissioner on the Elmwood Park Plan, Zoning, & Development Commission (11 years), which she chaired.   She was also a member of the Elmwood Park Civic Foundation, former chair of the Taste of Elmwood Park Committee, a wish-granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Kane County, Illinois, where she represented abused and neglected children.
